Mid-Level Electrical Designer

An industry-leading company located in Chandler, AZ is immediately seeking the expertise of an experienced Mid-Level Electrical Designer to join their team.

In this role, the Mid-Level Electrical Designer will be responsible for the design of Office Buildings, Assisted Living Facilities, Medium to Large Retail, Multifamily, Hospitality, Educational (K-12) and/or Municipal Facilities.

Key requirements:

  • Ability to understand projects scope of work and provide complete detailed design documentation using a high standard in accordance with AHJ code requirements to obtain a building permit for construction.
  • Design electrical distribution, power and lighting systems, medium voltage system design a plus.
  • Design emergency and standby generator systems.
  • Perform building load calculation in accordance with NEC and IECC guidelines.
  • Coordinate project requirements with Project Manager and Team Leadership.
  • Communicate project status and issues/concerns with Team Leadership.
  • Communicate with in-house and out-of-house design team members, as required to provide a quality, and coordinated design.
  • Attend out of office meeting, as required.
  • Pre-design site visits and as-building.
  • Work within specific standards and QC/QA practices.

Experience:

  • 9+ years’ experience of electrical design in the consulting engineering industry.
  • EIT certification (preferred).
  • Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, IECC, ComCheck, Outlook, Word, Excel and Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the construction process.
  • Knowledge and field experience working with various trade groups and resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to perform field walks and field verifications.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the electrical trade in an industrial setting.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform take-offs, and provide an engineering estimate.
  • Familiar with NFPA National Electrical Code and International Building Codes.
  • Knowledge and experience with RFI and submittal process.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and clearly communicate information in engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineered drawing revision process.
  • Familiar with distribution layouts, one-line diagrams, lighting layout and lighting control systems.
  • Knowledge of SKM software.
  • Professionally perform multiple, detailed-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines
  • Good oral and communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
