Civil Engineer

Hire Resolve’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Civil Engineer to join their team of professionals in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes information and data to perform routine design tasks
  • Receives instructions from Project Manager or Senior Project Engineers as to the general results expected
  • Research design options and document findings
  • Responsible as a member of the design them for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
  • Researches code requirements
  • Prepares environmental impact and other administrative reports required for project permits
  • Keeps Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Assist or participate in preparation of business proposals
  • May be asked to participate in non-design engineering activities such as construction inspection and materials testing, surveying, CADD production, and field data collection.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program
  • Ability to obtain Fundamentals of Engineering registration within 1 year
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Graduate from ABET accredited program
  • EIT
  • Previous internship experience in roadway, bridge, drainage, construction inspection and/or lighting
  • Experience with Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Illinois DOT, Chicago DOT, local municipalities, Metra, Class I railroads, or on other Federally-funded projects
  • Geopak and/or Microstation working knowledge
  • No relocation or stipend assistance
