Civil Engineer
Hire Resolve’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Civil Engineer to join their team of professionals in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes information and data to perform routine design tasks
- Receives instructions from Project Manager or Senior Project Engineers as to the general results expected
- Research design options and document findings
- Responsible as a member of the design them for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
- Researches code requirements
- Prepares environmental impact and other administrative reports required for project permits
- Keeps Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Assist or participate in preparation of business proposals
- May be asked to participate in non-design engineering activities such as construction inspection and materials testing, surveying, CADD production, and field data collection.
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program
- Ability to obtain Fundamentals of Engineering registration within 1 year
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Graduate from ABET accredited program
- EIT
- Previous internship experience in roadway, bridge, drainage, construction inspection and/or lighting
- Experience with Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Illinois DOT, Chicago DOT, local municipalities, Metra, Class I railroads, or on other Federally-funded projects
- Geopak and/or Microstation working knowledge
- No relocation or stipend assistance
