Civil Engineering Jobs in Albany, NY Full Time

Are you a seasoned Civil Engineer looking to work on meaningful projects that shape public spaces and infrastructure across New York State? This is your opportunity to join a forward-thinking design firm where your technical expertise and creativity will directly influence how people experience the built environment.

We’re seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join a collaborative team delivering innovative and sustainable civil design solutions. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely from anywhere in NYS with the support of a multidisciplinary studio that includes architects, engineers, landscape architects, and planners.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead civil design efforts for projects ranging from parks and greenways to transportation corridors, academic campuses, and complex stormwater systems.
  • Develop comprehensive design packages including site layout, roadway geometry, grading, utilities (water/sanitary), drainage, erosion control, and stormwater management systems.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, reports, SWPPPs, stormwater calculations, cost estimates, and other deliverables across all project phases.
  • Provide mentorship to junior designers and contribute to a supportive, knowledge-sharing team culture.
  • Coordinate with project managers, agency representatives, and consultants to move projects forward smoothly and on time.
  • Engage in construction administration, including site visits to review progress and quality.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design meetings and interface with public and private clients.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Landscape Architecture.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in civil/site design.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York State or EIT working toward licensure preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with MicroStation and stormwater modeling tools such as HydroCAD is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of construction practices and civil permitting requirements across New York jurisdictions.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
