Landscape Architect Engineering Jobs in Albany, NY Full Time

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and contribute to the design and development of innovative outdoor spaces—integrating landscape, ecology, and infrastructure with community needs.
  • Create conceptual plans, illustrative graphics, planting and grading designs, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with engineers, architects, urban designers, and planners to deliver cohesive, context-sensitive designs.
  • Engage in public realm design including parks, streetscapes, greenways, plazas, and campus landscapes.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, reports, and permit documentation.
  • Participate in community meetings, agency coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support construction administration through site visits, punch lists, and coordination with contractors.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to a collaborative, creative culture.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or closely related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in landscape architecture or site design.
  • Licensure (RLA) preferred or on track for licensure.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Civil3D. GIS and 3D visualization skills are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of planting design, site grading, and sustainable stormwater management principles.
  • Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion for integrated design and a deep respect for environmental and social context.
