Controller (Construction Industry)

An industry-leading company located in Phoenix, Arizona is immediately seeking the expertise of an experienced Controller (Construction Industry) to join their team.

In this role, the Controller (Construction Industry) will develop accounting policies and procedures, and oversee all company financial operations. Other responsibilities include monitoring the company’s financial status, reviewing department expenses, ensuring tax compliance, and managing accounting transactions.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with risk management. Ultimately, the Controller is charged with ensuring the company complies with accounting regulations while maximizing profits and mitigating risks. The position reports directly to the Owner.

Key requirements:

  • The document, monitor and update accounting policies
  • Ensure all payments are accurate and completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits)
  • Review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments

Experience:

  • Work experience as a Controller or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Experience with cash management and risk assessment

Education & Certifications:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Accounting or Finance
  • Knowledge of construction lien rights
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise accounting software
