Overview
Water Resources Engineer
An industry-leading company located in Phoenix, Arizona is immediately seeking the expertise of an experienced Water Resources Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Performs hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, calculations and design
- Prepares (and/or responsible for) plans and specifications
- Calculates quantities and prepare engineering estimates
- Perform floodplain mapping and delineations
- Evaluate drainage issues and develop creative solutions
- Help develop drainage master plans
- Design drainage facilities including culverts, storm drains, and more
- Prepares technical reports, letters, and memos for development of projects
- Assist in client contact and communications for projects and tasks.
- Attend client meetings
- Organize and maintain project files
- Other assignments as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 4+ years relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in AZ or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Proficient with AutoCAD and hydrologic and hydraulics modeling software
- Experience with local municipal design methods, plan preparation, standards and specifications is desirable
- Experience with hydraulics & hydrology modeling using software such as: StormCAD, HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and HY-8
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word and Excel
- Displays sound supervisory, organizational, strong judgment and technical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, quality work and client service
- Self-motivated and able to manage and meet multiple critical deadlines
