Project Geotechnical Engineer
A leading consulting engineering firm providing geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental consulting is immediately seeking a highly motivated Project Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Houston, TX!
In this role, the Project Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible:
- Develop the scope of work for routine projects.
- Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and other project-related documents.
- Conduct, coordinate or supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of respective data.
- Perform geotechnical calculations and analyses using computer programs for shallow and deep foundation design, seepage and slope stability evaluations, earth retaining structure designs, pavement design, and settlement assessments.
- Prepare geotechnical data reports, geotechnical engineering reports, and supporting engineering calculation packages.
- Develop geotechnical recommendations for engineering designs.
- Review daily CMT reports.
Key Experiences:
- Work independently as well as within a project team.
- Collect field data and oversee subcontractors.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to at least 50 pounds.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD and gINT.
- Geotechnical engineering software experience, such as GeoStudio, Slide, Shaft, Apile, Lpile, Group, Settle 3D, and Plaxis.
- Valid driver’s license.
Education & Certifications:
- Masters or Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) required.
