Project Manager/Geologist
An industry-leading client in the environmental engineering field is looking for a Project Manager/Geologist to immediately join their team.
Responsibilities
- Limited travel through California will be required
- Possession of significant experience in assessing and remediating hazardous waste sites, mentoring junior staff, client management, site auditing and direct interaction with state, local and federation regulatory agencies.
- Stepping into project management roles
- Assisting the director with managing of projects
- Directing staff, regulatory contact and acting as the primary client
- Providing strategies for regulatory regulations
- Working some nights and weekends
- Work in conjunction with other geologists and engineers to complete engineering design and construction projects
- Performing field geologic explorations including soil and bedrock mapping
- Performing field permeability testing and evaluations for infiltration facilities
- Writing drafts of field reports and geotechnical and geologic reports
- Providing geotechnical monitoring and using instrumentation to record vibrations, settlements, slope movements, water levels, and other critical geotechnical engineering data
Requirements:
- BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental studies. Masters degree is preferred
- Minimum 12 years of related experience
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
- Knowledge of MS Office, Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- California registration as a Professional Engineer or Geologist required
- Experience with DTSC. RWQCB and local Bay Area regulatory oversight programs
- Significant experience in assessing and remediating hazardous waste sites, preparing and managing Site Characterization Work Plans and Reports, Remedial Action Plans etc
- Valid drivers license and reliable transport
- Working some nights and weekends
- Good physical health and ability to wear PPE
