Senior Accountant – Insurance Company
Hire Resolve’s client in the insurance industry is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team remotely. The successful candidate will work closely with other accounting staff in managing and maintaining financial records, and will be responsible for monthly closing procedures and financial analyses. The candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely for the company, whose headquarters are based in Iowa.
Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise related to financial accounting and reporting for the successful launch of new, and modifications to existing, insurance products, features or riders
- Assist in defining financial reporting business requirements to appropriately account for insurance products
- Manage and maintain financial records, including preparation and review of journal entries and financial statements
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies and procedures
- Perform financial analyses to identify trends and opportunities for optimization
- Participate in budgeting processes and financial forecasting
- Work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to support the company’s financial objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the insurance industry
- Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Experience with financial analysis and budgeting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software, such as Sage or Quickbooks
