Senior Geotechnical Engineer
A comprehensive civil engineering and surveying firm located in Lee’s Summit, MO is immediately seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team!
This firm provides geotechnical engineering and innovative design solutions for public and private sector clients across the Midwest.
In this role, the Senior Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible for:
- Oversee, manage and direct geotechnical engineering evaluations for projects with a varying range of complexity.
- Prepare technical scopes of work for proposals and projects, project budgets, requests for proposals for contractors, and technical reports.
- Overseeing and developing geotechnical field explorations (test borings, test pits, infiltration testing, etc.).
- Performing and reviewing geotechnical calculations.
- Participate in construction observation and special inspections.
- Proposes an approach solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Communicating effectively and efficiently with contractors, clients, and team members.
Key Experiences:
- Design of foundations.
- Data analysis and collection skills.
- Strong academic background and a solid understanding of soil mechanics.
- Project management.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required (Master of science with a Geotechnical Engineering focus strongly preferred).
- PE License required.
- 10+ years of experience
