Tax Manager

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking an an experienced Tax Manager to join their team in Minneapolis, MN and are actively hiring for this role.​ 

Our client is a trusted adviser to clients seeking audit, tax and advisory services. As one of the world’s leading Audit and Accounting organizations, they have clients ranging from large corporate organizations to private businesses, as well as entrepreneurs and individuals across an array of industry sectors. With their office locations extending all over the US, they offer the possibility of a flexible work model to their employees and it is important to note that newer employees may be required to work in-office for the first few weeks. Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after the consideration of numerous factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

  • California Range: $102,300 – $150,000
  • Colorado Range: $105,000 – $125,000
  • New York City/ Valhalla Range: $110,000 – $150,000
  • Washington Range: $86,000 – $115,000

Responsibilities

  • Supervises associates and senior associates on all projects
  • Reviews work prepared by associates and senior associates and provide review comments
  • Trains Associates and Seniors how to use all current software tools
  • Acts as a Career Advisor to associates and senior associates
  • Schedules and manages workload of associates and senior associates
  • Provides verbal and written performance feedback to associates and senior associates
  • Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel
  • Develops an in depth understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation
  • Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients’ current and future taxes
  • ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals
  • Ensures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies, standards, and the Tax Quality Manual

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics – preferred
  • accounting or consulting/professional services experience – required
  • Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role – preferred
  • CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations) – required
  • Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty – preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience – required
  • Five or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry
  • Masters in Accountancy or Taxation – preferred
