Tax Preparer

An industry-leading CPA Firm company located in Beverly Hills; CA is immediately seeking the expertise of an experienced Tax Preparer to join their team.

In this role, the Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparation of simple and complex, individual, and small business Federal and State tax returns.

A key focus area for this position will entail a background in audit or tax. The responsibilities will involve preparing tax returns, working on non-profit or franchise audits, and communicating with clients. This is the perfect opportunity for the right candidate to become a part of an innovative and energetic team that develops analysis tools which will influence both our products and clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prior individual and business tax preparation experience in a tax practice or retail setting is required.
  • Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts and familiarity with form 1040 and schedules.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws, regulations, and deadlines
  • Proficiency with common tax preparation, word processing and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Experience with Lacerte/ProConnect/Intuit Tax Software is preferred.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Software is advantageous.
  • Must be able to effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines throughout each day to assist in meeting all client needs.
  • Should have a good understanding of depreciation and fixed asset allocations, allowable business deductions and allocations, interest allocations, basis requirements, amended return preparations, NOL allocations, estimated tax projections and calculations, preparation of state returns, and the current tax law.
  • Should be proficient in payroll, payroll taxes, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Should understand the process of compiling the balance sheet, profit and loss, general ledger, general journals, etc.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance or Business-related field and or equivalent
  • Licensed EA or Certified CPA is preferred, or partly qualified or desire to acquire licensure.
  • 3 years’ experience working within a similar role preparing personal, individual, federal, state, business, and estate tax returns.
